What this build does

Shift tracking, stops, earnings, estimates.

  • One-tap Start, Pause, Resume, End shift with background GPS mileage tracking.
  • Trip history with business, personal, commute, and needs-review classification, plus manual split, merge, and odometer comparison.
  • One-tap stops with a Walmart pickup / waiting timer.
  • Earnings entry per platform: base pay, confirmed and pending tips, incentives, bonuses, extras, adjustments.
  • Dashboard estimates: gross pay, per-hour and per-mile pay, vehicle cost, tax reserve, take-home, and mileage deduction value.
  • Fuel receipt and pump photo capture with on-device text recognition — confirm and correct every number before saving. Manual entry always available.
  • Odometer photo capture for shift start/end, with a GPS-vs-odometer shift check that flags differences over 2% for review.
  • Multiple vehicles and MPG tracking from full fill-ups with odometer readings. Fuel corrections keep an audit history.
  • Local JSON backup and restore. Restores Phase 1 and v0.2.0 backups.

Planned, not in this build: automatic departure detection, advanced tax settings, PDF/CSV reports, expanded expense tracking.

Install

Sideload in two minutes.

  1. On your Pixel, open this page and tap Download APK.
  2. Open the downloaded file. If Android asks, allow installs from your browser.
  3. Grant location access when asked so tracking works with the screen off.

Updating from v0.2.0-ea1? Install directly over it — same signing key, your data and backups carry over automatically.

Coming from the earlier debug build? The Early Access release is signed with the permanent TheCriners key, which Android treats as a different app identity. In the old app, use Backup → Export backup, then uninstall it, install this APK, and use Backup → Restore from file. Your trips and history carry over.

Privacy and permissions

Your data stays on your phone.

No account, no registration, no ads, no tracking SDKs. The app requests no internet permission and sends nothing anywhere.

  • Location (foreground + background): mileage tracking with the screen off and other apps open.
  • Notifications: shows that tracking is active, with pause/resume actions.
  • Run at boot: offers to resume an open shift after a restart.
  • Camera (optional): photographing fuel receipts and odometers. Photos stay on your phone and are not included in JSON backups. Manual entry always works without it.

Test note

Real-world accuracy is not yet verified.

This build passed automated tests, lint, and emulator verification, including simulated drives. GPS accuracy against real odometer readings on physical drives has not yet been measured. Early Access exists to collect exactly that evidence. Money and tax figures are clearly labeled estimates, not advice — verify before filing.
